Obituary of Claudia Marie Martin
Claudia Marie Martin “Ma” (née Birch) age 68 passed away unexpectedly on January 17th, 2019 after a brief illness. Claudia was born on May 24th, 1950 to parents Mildred and Warren Birch Sr. in Albany, NY.
Claudia was a trained Nurses Assistant, EKG technician and co-owner of the restaurant Cee Cee’s Chicken and deli on Albany St in Schenectady with her husband Charles Martin Sr. She had a love for cooking and baking and wouldn’t hesitate to feed any person or animal who was hungry. She enjoyed going to bingo games, fishing, swimming and camping with her family. She was a member of St. Luke’s Church in Schenectady.
Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles and her brother Lavern Birch.
She is survived by her children: Bernita “Bonnie” Richardson of Schenectady NY, Maryann “Tita” Hernandez (George) of Cohoes NY, Claudia Martin Jr. of Schenectady NY, Charlee “Nikki” Martin (William) of Schenectady NY, Charles Nathan Martin of Ogden UT, Ashley Martin Sanchez (Juan Carlos) of Schenectady NY, Gabrielle Martin Wallace (Kevin) of Schenectady NY, Step Daughter Jennie Castro of Pittsfield MA, and her 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Warren Birch Jr. of Jacksonville SC, Patricia Nguyen of Houston TX, James Birch of Schenectady NY, Maryann Carraway of Amelia Court House VA, Thomas Hotaling of Schenectady NY and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
