I am saddened and heart broken to hear of Dena's passing. I spent many nights at the Coy's residence back when we were kids. I have so many fond memories of the whole family, Kerri, Dena, Matt, Fred and Sissy. I just have learned that Kerri passed away the other day also. My heart ACHES! I had moved to Florida in 1996 and had no idea of the struggles that Dena went through. I cant believe that Dena and Kerri are gone! The lord must of needed two sister angels in Heaven! My beautiful cousin was the strongest woman I have known, she fought many year's with her disablities, she had a big heart for other's suffering. She was special to so many of us. She was blessed here on earth with an unbelievable amazing husband. Now she is in no pain, in heaven with the greatest of all our creator, Our Lord God Almighty. My heart broke when I heard Dena had passed. She was a true kidney warrior who helped me along with many others she knew both personally and through FaceBook and the Kidney Foundation. My sympathies to all who knew her and will miss her. I celebrate her life.

My thoughts and prayers are with Jeff and her family for the great loss of this brave warrier. Dena taught all of us how to be strong in times of sickness and pain and for this I thank her. Dena, the little sister of my very close, life-long friend, Kerri; is the most resilient person I have ever met. I became ill shortly after Dena had her kidney transplant and witnessing how Dena handled her health battle made me able to deal with my own a little bit better than I might have otherwise. She set the standard of strength that I aim to live up to. Dena constantly put out messages that reflected her positivity and courage. Her reflections stopped me, many times, from feeling depressed or sorry for myself. She will be truly missed, but I am sure that her spirit will continue to live on in all of the people for whom she set a great example.
