Obituary of Geraldine K. Berglas

CLIFTON PARK, NY

Geraldine (Gerry) Kenzie Berglas , 89, passed away on Thursday August 23, 2018 at Ellis Hospital.

She was born on October 13, 1928 in Johnson City, NY to the late  Helen Yursa Kenzie and Jerry Kenzie. After graduating from Binghamton Central High School Gerry went on to earn a BS and Masters from SUNY Albany along with a Masters from SUNY Oneonta.

She worked briefly for the Telephone Company and Department of Education before starting her almost 25 years at Voorheesville Elementary School as a Kindergarten Teacher. She took great pride in starting students on their educational journey thru the elementary years.

After her retirement she started on a new adventure working for Hart Tours traveling throughout the U.S., Canada and Abroad. She thoroughly enjoyed her ten years traveling.

Besides being an avid reader, Gerry loved to play Golf. For many years she played in a couple of leagues, one of the things she missed the most as her health declined.

She is survived by her son Jeffery W. (Francine) Berglas, Watervliet, NY; her daughter Nancy L. (Richard) Fenwick, Clifton Park, NY; her Grandson Bradley R. Fenwick, Saratoga Springs, NY; her Granddaughters Heidi N. Berglas, Albany, NY and Tayler L. Fenwick, Long Island City, NY.

The family would also like to thank all those friends that took time to call and visit Mom these past years and especially those who helped care for her (like family), Marisa, Heather, Samantha, Amanda and Kim, who she waited for.

All services will be private
