Carol Ann Ellsworth (Gilbert) passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, at the age of 74. Carol will also be fondly remembered and missed by her grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jessica, Mitchell, Jamie, Zachary, Caitlyn, Megan, and Caleb, and her sister, Gert Bracken, her sisters and brother in law, as well as six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Laurel Gilbert, and her brothers, Joseph and Denny Gilbert.
Carol was born in Troy, NY, where she met and married the love of her life. After many travels across the country, they settled in upstate, NY, where they raised their family. Carol was most proud of her children, grandchildren, and grandpets. She enjoyed passing the days on the porch talking with her husband, spending time with her family and her cat, Goofy. She was happiest when her family gathered together during holidays and special occasions. She loved gardening, word finds, and cooking for her family.
A private memorial is planned for her family at a future date. The family would like to express their gratitude to the ICU nurses at Saratoga Hospital for their compassion and care. Memorial contributions can be made in Carol’s name to the American Diabetes Association and/or the American Heart Association.
