Obituary
Obituary of Regina Pelletier
Regina Pelletier of Scotia, NY died October 18, 2025.
Reggie was born in Amsterdam NY in 1924 to the late Anthony and Pearl Ratajczak - the middle of their three daughters.
In her twenties she worked at GE Schenectady General Engineering Lab where she met her future husband Ray and they settled in Scotia in the early 1950s, raising three children. Across 54 years together Reggie and Ray enjoyed travel, camping, ping-pong and horseshoes, pinochle, cruises, summer days at Saratoga Racetrack and gatherings with friends and family. She was also employed by Dr. Samuel Strauss in Scotia for 20 years.
Reggie was a long-time dedicated member of St. Joseph’s Church in Scotia and its Rosary Altar Society, and a supporter of Birthright and Christ Child Society. Through the years though she loved gardening, Polish foods and traditions, daily crosswords, bicycling, baking, Scrabble, and many (or so many) crafts, her deepest love was reserved for family and friends. In years past she enjoyed an occasional bet at Saratoga Racetrack but more often than not spent her winnings on someone else. Her kindness, warmth and generosity were felt by all of those around her.
She is predeceased by husband Ray, sisters Dorothy and Connie, son Rick, and two great-grandchildren.
She is survived by son Paul, daughter Terry, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by friends in Scotia and Amsterdam, nieces, nephews and cousins, and special pals Dot, Charlotte, Deb, Nancy, Jo, and Tim.
She was a woman of faith, a good listener who lived with grace and love who looked for the best in people.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or any favorite charity.
A private service will be held in her honor.
