ALBANY –
Eric J. Hurley of Albany, NY — beloved son, brother, family, and friend to many — passed away suddenly at the age of 38 on October 12, 2025, in Albany.
Born on June 23, 1987, in Boston, MA, Eric was the cherished son of the late John Hurley and Rita Hurley. He spent his childhood in Massachusetts before moving to Florida and ultimately settling in Albany, NY.
Eric found his calling in public service, working for the City of Albany Water Department as a plant operator. Through years of hard work and dedication, he recently rose to the position of Chief Plant Operator for the neighboring City of Watervliet. His commitment to providing clean water to his community reflected both his pride and his deep sense of responsibility to the people he served. Eric’s professionalism, humor, and kindness left a lasting impact on his colleagues, friends, and community.
Eric’s legacy lives on through his loving mother, Rita; his brothers, Keith, Brian, Shawn, and his twin brother Christopher; and through countless friends and extended family across Massachusetts, Florida, and New York.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his generosity, dedication, and the warmth he brought to everyone who knew him.
