Obituary of Mark Joseph DeLacey
SCHENECTADY –
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mark Joseph DeLacey, of Schenectady N.Y., age 60 years old , who on May 26, 2025, left this world to go exploring eternity.
Born on the 13th of August 1964 he was a typical Upstate NY boy who would grow to love all things outdoors. Hiking in the Adirondacks, camping, and fishing anywhere there was water were among his favorite things to do. Sacandaga Lake, Lake George, and Wells Beach, Maine were a few of his favorite places to be.
During the 80’s he had many friends and rarely missed an opportunity for a beer ball party in the cellar or tailgating up at SPAC for a summer show. He loved his friends so much.
Later, a devastating motorcycle accident altered his life path. Severe injuries and multiple surgeries robbed him of his full mobility and he had daily pain. Leaving the outdoors mostly behind him, he simply deepened his abundant love of his family.
Mark was predeceased by his father Joseph G. DeLacey.
Mark is survived by his loving mother Charlotte DeLacey, his cherished daughter Breanna DeLacey, brother James DeLacey, sister Dawn Fuller, nieces: Kathleen Davidson, Anastasia Cesarano, Shyanne DeLacey, nephew Chad Fuller, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as old friends, (and an old lady with a bad tooth). His smile, humor, laugh, and love will be greatly missed by many.
