Obituary of John J. Silvia, Jr.
WESTERLO –
Joseph C. Silvia, Jr., 80, of Westerlo and formerly of Hannacroix died at The Pines of Catskill on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
He was born on March 6, 1945 in Albany, son of the late Joseph C Silvia Sr and Rose Ostrum. Joseph was raised and educated in Albany.
Mr. Silvia was employed by the Teamsters Union, delivering blacktop and stone. He enjoyed camping and fishing and cutting his firewood.
Joseph married the late Joan M. Silvia on July 26, 1965 in the City of Rensselaer, she has since passed away. In addition to his parents and wife, Joseph was also predeceased in death by his brother John L. Silvia and two sons Joseph C. Silvia III and Justin M. Silvia.
Surviving children and their spouses include: John J. Silvia (Sandra), James W. Silvia (Karen), Jason C. Silvia (Heather), Jeffery A. Silvia (Jodie) and Jesse P Silvia( Kari-Ann); along with 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 5 siblings.
