Obituary of Alicio Rivera, Jr.
SCHENECTADY –
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Alicio Rivera, affectionately known to many as “Junior the Body.” Born on October 6, 1962, Alicio took his final breath on May 1, 2025, surrounded by love.
Alicio was a man of many passions and talents. He found joy in dancing, singing opera, playing the congas, and even wrestling — always embracing life with energy, humor, and heart. His vibrant spirit lit up every room, and his laughter was contagious.
Above all, Alicio was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was deeply committed to helping his community and never hesitated to lend a hand to those in need. His compassion and warm-hearted nature will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He leaves behind his two beloved sons: Jonathan and Nathaniel, a devoted family: siblings Miriam Figueroa, Herman Figueroa, Carlos Segarra, Ivette Figueroa, and Marisol Figueroa. He also leaves a lasting legacy in the hearts of his nieces and nephews — Marieliz Ramos, Annabelle Pacheco, Erica Torres, Miriam Serrano, Maximo Serrano, and Infiniti Cordero — and their children.
Alicio’s life was a celebration of music, movement, love, and laughter.
He will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace, forever dancing among the stars.
