Obituary

Donna Jean Sanders Young was called to her Heavenly Home on April 28, 2025, at the age of 82. Born and raised in Washington, DC, Donna was preceded in death by her mother and father, Elizabeth and Kenneth Sanders, and two sisters, Dorothy Parnell and Doris Chalk.

Donna had a long and distinguished career with the US Federal Government, supporting the JFK administration at the US State Dept. and then at the Dept. of Health and Human Services.  Her retirement years were spent in Bethany Beach where she loved spending time with family and friends and playing golf as much as she could.  Donna is survived by her three children Karen (Kane), Chris (Sandra) and Karla (Jake), and her grandchildren: Christopher, Courtney, Joseph, Riley and Ellie.

Memorial/Celebration of Life will be on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 2:00pm at Oakdale Church, 3425 Emory Church Rd, Olney, MD 20832 followed by a gathering at the home of Kane and Karen Bookhultz.
