JOHNSTOWN –
Gregorio ("Greg") M. Syquia, 88, of Johnstown, died at the Nathaniel Littauer Hospital in Gloversville on April 18, 2025.
He was born on April 4, 1937 in Manila, Philippines to the late Antonio Syquia and Jovita Mendoza Syquia and was the older brother to Zenaida M. Syquia.
He was a college graduate with a degree in Bachelor of Arts. Later in life, Greg moved to the Bronx and later relocated to Johnstown, NY. While he held various role as a Medical Representative for Bristol Meyers, a business owner, and then long time employee of the Johnstown YMCA, Greg will be warmly remembered as a voracious reader, for his love to eat good food, his fondness for watching Jeopardy but most of all, he will be missed and remembered as a dedicated father.
Loving father to his children: Vickee, Alicia, Martha, Anthony, Maria-Gloria, Patricia, Gregorio III, and Gladys.
Cherished grandfather to 17 grandchildren and to 6 great grandchildren.
In accordance with his wishes, Gregorio has been cremated under the care of Simple Choices, Inc. His remains will be returned to the Philippines. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared with the Syquia Family, online at: SimpleChoicesCremation.com
