Obituary of Lawrence B. Recktenwald
LATHAM –
Mr. Lawrence B. Recktenwald, 87, of Latham, formerly of Schenectady passed away peacefully in the St. Peter's Hospice Inpatient Unit in Albany, NY on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
Born on June 7, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Lambert and Marie Recktenwald.
Lawrence has lived throughout the United States, including: Chicago, IL., Brooklyn, NY, Corning, NY, Schenectady, NY, San Diego, CA, Santa Fe, NM, Albuquerque, NM, and lastly Colonie/Latham, NY.
He received his education and graduated Corning Free Academy High School, and attended Duquesne and Union Universities.
Mr. Recktenwald was a construction surveyor and co-owner Tri-Point Layout, Inc. He served his country in the Army Reserves. Lawrence traveled the world and all 50 states, he made friends everywhere he went with his infectious sense of humor and his unforgettable laugh.
He married the late Geraldine F. Recktenwald on July 17, 1965 in Corning, NY.
Survivors include one son and daughter in law Thomas (Natalie) Recktenwald, one sister and brother in law Kathleen (the late Richard) Dean.
In addition to his parents, and loving wife, Mr. Recktenwald was predeceased in death by a son David Recktenwald as well as his brother Edward Recktenwald.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc., A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be determined by the family.
