Obituary of Susan E. Kuhlmeier

ALBANY –

Susan E. Kuhlmeier, 72, of Albany, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.

She was born on August 16, 1952 in Albany. A daughter of the late Charles and Emerica (Magnolia) Bennett. Susan was raised in North Albany and has resided in the Capital Region her entire life. She received her education from Skidmore College.
Susan was employed by the Internal Revenue Service as an Information Technology Specialist. Following her retirement, this administrative computer experience led Susan to helping others in local Capital Region funeral homes as a support staff member. Susan was very creative on the computer software programs, often incorporating special touches that were never asked or even expected. These thoughtful gestures were most appreciated by the grieving families served.
On June 25, 1994, Susan married her soulmate, Carlton T. Kuhlmeier, Sr. in the House of Praise, and that union lasted 22 years until Carl’s unexpected passing on November 25, 2016.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children and their spouses Andrew Garrow, Jr. (Heather) and Aimee Anders (Kevin).

Her cherished grandchildren: Brandi Lownsbury (Cory), Makenzie Anders, Joseph Garrow, Zachary Anders (Marah) and Kyarra Callum, and great granddaughter, Peyton Lownsbury.

Also mourning are Susan’s dear siblings: Patricia (the late Daniel), Jeff (Diane), John, Debbie, and Mark (Dorothy), sisters-in-law: Betty Ann Bennett and Mabel Leak, and many nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her mother, father and beloved husband, Susan was also predeceased by a brother, William.

Calling Hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 3-6PM in the Chapel of Simple Choices, Inc. & Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue, Troy, NY 12180. A Memorial Service will commence at 6 o’clock that evening in the funeral home. Deacon Bob Sweeney will officiate.
