Obituary of Ronald F. Sheridan

SCHENECTADY –
 
Mr. Ronald F Sheridan, 83, of Schenectady, passed away on February 25, 2025 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York.
 
He was born on June 1, 1941 in Schenectady, NY. A son of the late James L. Sheridan, Sr. and Ruth B. Sheridan. Ronald spent the majority of his life in Schenectady and received his education from the former Linton High School.
 
He was a long time employee of the City of Schenectady Police Department in their Parking Division.
 
Mr. Sheridan served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.
 
Ron was a selfless man who raised five children on his own. He was a funny, loving, kind, and caring man. Ron enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren while they were growing up. Family meant everything to him.
Loving father of Michelle (Shawn Parson) Sheridan, Lana (Lou) Liuzzi, Ronald-Jake (Denise) Sheridan, James L. (Connie) Sheridan III, and Travis Sheridan.
 
Cherished grandfather of Brandon (Melissa Nolan) Sheridan, Victoria (Ed Aguirre) Sheridan, James L. Sheridan IV, and Nicolette Sheridan. He was great grandfather to Aaliyah Aguirre, Cody Nolan and Landon Aguirre.
 
Dearest brother of: Brian (Lori) Sheridan and Jennifer Sheridan Hellijas.
 
In addition to his parents, Ronald was predeceased in death by brothers James L. Sheridan Jr., William M. Sheridan, Robert M. Sheridan, one sister Dolores Santor, and one granddaughter: Allana Lynn Liuzzi.
 
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
 
There are no calling hours as per Ron’s request he was cremated.
 
A committal ceremony with military honors will be bestowed on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 2:30 in the afternoon in the Gerald B.H. Solomon - Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville NY 12871. Ron’s ashes will be placed in the columbarium within the cemetery.
