Obituary of Marchel S. Burke
LATHAM –
Marchel S. Burke, 80, of Latham, New York, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, with family members by his side. He was the son of the late William Burke and June Burke (Miller)
Marchel worked for the Town of Colonie Pure Waters Department for a little over 40 years.
He enjoyed Spelunking (caving), taking pictures, computers, puzzles, watching funny animal video’s and being outside in the sun. Most of all he cherished his family and his cat Duke.
Marchel is survived by his children: Luecinda (Walter) Chenette, Kevin (Laura) Burke, and Medea (Ted) Shields and his sister, Chere Burke.
He was the grandfather of Medea (Vance) Jones, Thomas J. and Ryan Allery, Breanna Chenette, Walter Chenette Jr. and Lailani Burke. Great grandchildren: Gavin and Julia Jones.
He is also survived by his brother-in-law Richard (Louann) Carlstrom and sister-in-law Cheryl (late Bruce) Houghton
In addition to his parents, Marchel was predeceased in death by his loving wife, Kathleen.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. Services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
