Obituary of Virginia Caroline Vincent

ROTTERDAM –

Virginia Caroline Vincent, 77, of Rotterdam, NY, left us peacefully on February 26, 2025 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, with loved ones by her side. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Ginny will always be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and undeniably loving spirit.

Born on April 15, 1947, in Niskayuna, NY. Ginny grew up the daughter of John and Betty LeRoy and sister of Helen Moak Meyers.

On June 16, 1979, Ginny married the love of her life, John Vincent. The two shared an amazing and inspiring love that lasted 44 years. Together they had one daughter, and two cherished grandchildren.

Ginny is lovingly remembered by her daughter Amy (Thomas) Buckton and her treasured grandchildren, Chloe and Christopher. She is also survived by her sister Helen Meyers, niece Ginae Warner, nephew Keith (Caroline) Meyers, great-nephew Dillon Warner, great-niece Alyssa Warner, and many cousins. Ginny was predeceased by her parents, her husband John, and her brother-in-law Howard Meyers.

Ginny graduated from Schoharie Central School in 1965. She then pursued her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse and spent 15 years working on the Neurosurgery floor at Ellis Hospital. In 1986, Ginny embarked on a fulfilling and dedicated career as a paraprofessional at Duanesburg Central School District, where she worked in both special education and the library.

Ginny had a deep love for books and was an avid reader. She was also a huge fan of Colin Firth and could effortlessly recite lines from the Pride and Prejudice miniseries, which she watched countless times. Above all, Ginny cherished her family, with her grandchildren being the true light of her life. She deeply missed her husband, John, and her parents. Now, she has reunited with her loved ones and begins a new journey in Heaven.

Ginny will always be remembered for her kind soul, her deep love for her family, and the way she made the world a better place simply by being in it. May she rest in peace, comforted by the knowledge that her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She leaves a lasting legacy of love and precious memories.

In honor of Ginny's memory, contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
