Obituary of Charles W. Jackson
TOWN OF KNOX, NY –
Mr. Charles W. Jackson, 91, of the Town of Knox, Albany County, NY and formerly of Sullivan County, NY, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025 at Daughters of Sarah Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Albany, NY with his devoted wife and loving daughter at his side.
He was born in Pearl River, NY on November 15, 1933 to the late Jesse and Blanche Jackson.
Charles was raised in Pearl River, spent much of his adulthood in Wolf Lake, NY where he built the family home. In his retirement, he and Alice moved to Knox, NY where they quickly found a wonderful community of friends and neighbors.
Mr. Jackson was a veteran of the United States Army. He received an honorable discharge for his service to our country.
Mr. Jackson was also a talented craftsman, and is a retired union carpenter by trade. In his spare time he also enjoyed gardening but his biggest joy was his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of nearly 55 years, Alice Jackson, whom he married on October 24, 1970, as well as his daughter, Jessica Barone and her husband Richard, and his only grandson, Kyle Barone.
Besides his parents, Charles was predeceased in death by one brother, Ronald Jackson.
A Celebration of Charles Life will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 12 o’clock (noon) in The Founders Room at Daughters of Sarah, 180 Washington Ave Ext, Albany, NY 12203. The Family will be present to receive relatives, friends and members of the Daughters of Sarah Senior Community 30 minutes prior (starting at 11:30 AM) immediately prior to the commencement of the ceremony at noon.
Mr. Jackson’s ashes will be placed within the Gerald B.H. Solomon – Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY at a later date to be determined at the convenience of the family.
The tremendous care and support from the entire Daughters of Sarah Staff has meant so much to the Jackson Family, we thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to Charles' care and comfort.
