MECHANICVILLE -

Mr. William S. Pettit, Jr., 80, of Mechanicville, formerly of Cohoes, entered into rest at Saratoga Hospital on January 14, 2025.

As a young man William worked at Capital District Tool & Die Co. Inc., Troy, NY, Williams Press, Menands, NY, and other various manufacturing companies through the years.

As a young boy William enjoyed building Balsa Wood Airplanes and rockets.  In his later years  you could find him tinkering with his mini metal lathe, fixing watches and antique clocks for his neighbors and friends. He enjoyed sharing his artwork by displaying it on his apartment door.  William took great pleasure in learning about his favorite inventors, Nikola Tesla, Thomas Edison, and Alexander Graham Bell. He also loved Christmas and carried it in his heart all year.  At the end of the day you would find him with the tree lite watching Christmas Vacation.

In Addition to his parents, William was predeceased in death by his brother, Wayne H. Pettit, and his sister, Wanda Capone and sister-in-law, Pauline Pettit.
