Obituary of Mary Ellen Corrigan

VOORHEESVILLE –

 

Mary Ellen Corrigan, 65, of Voorheesville, formerly of Colonie, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home on Thursday, January 16, 2025.

 

She was born in Troy, New York on December 24, 1959. A daughter of the late Thomas and Doris Hurley.

 

Mary Ellen was raised in Colonie and resided in Voorheesville at the time of her death. She received her education from the College of St. Rose in Albany, New York. She was employed in the healthcare profession as an accounts billing specialist for local, Capital Region medical offices, including Bethlehem Family Practice and Community Care Physicians, developing long lasting friendships through her years in the medical field.

 

Mary Ellen was the kind of woman who always cared for others before herself. She possessed a smile that lit up any room she entered.  She loved to be outside in her gardens or relaxing in the Adirondacks up at camp with her husband and son. She also enjoyed seeing shows at local theaters and garage sales with Tina Lamm and traveling with friend Sharon Buza. Mary Ellen loved her Jack Russell Terriers Pete and Chuck. But most of all, she was very proud of her son, and his accomplishments through life.

 

Mary Ellen leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of nearly 38 years, Joseph Corrigan, whom she married on June 6, 1987 in Albany, New York, her son, Joseph Corrigan, Jr., and also survived by two sisters: Jeanann Bourdeau and Karen Leary. In addition to her mother and father, Mary Ellen was predeceased in death by her sister Pat, and her two brothers: Tim and Kevin.
