Obituary of William E. Mac Gregor

GUILDERLAND –
 
William E. Mac Gregor, 96, of Guilderland, NY, formerly of Jersey Shore, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2024 in the comfort of his own home.
 
He was born on March 27, 1928 in Jersey Shore, PA and was a son of the late William M. and Hazel A. Mac Gregor. 
 
William received his education from Albany High School and graduated class of 1946. 
 
Mr. Mac Gregor was a United States Marine Corps. Veteran, having served his country faithfully from 1946 until 1951 and received an honorable discharge.
 
Mr. Mac Gregor was employed by Sealtest Foods for 26 years. During retirement he owned and managed many properties.
 
Known as “Bud” by family and friends, he enjoyed spending time at his camp on Thompson's Lake, winters in Florida with his wife. Bud will be warmly remembered as a man of many talents, he could fix or build anything.
 
William was the devoted husband of the late Helen Mac Gregor, whom he married on December 3, 1949. Their union lasted 58 years until her passing on April 30, 2008.
 
He was the loving father of: Karen Patrei, Lynn Stewart, William K. Mac Gregor (Patti) and Susan Dean ( Doug).
 
Cherished Grandfather of: Gini Iarusso, Linda Stewart, Charlie Stewart (Theresa), John Meyer (Michelle), Laurie Berkowitz, Rachel Mandeville (Chris), Matt Dean and Paige Dean; and great grandfather of: Sebastian Iarusso, Cardell Iarusso, Carter Iarusso, Forrest Westburg, Theresa Stewart, Preston Stewart, Everette Stewart, Abigail Stewart, Emmy Berkowitz, Noah Berkowitz, CJ Mandeville and Elle Mandeville.
 
Also surviving Bud is his devoted, longtime companion, Dottie Mc Clelland.
 
In addition to his parents and wife, William was predeceased in death by his grandson, Jeffrey Mac Gregor and his brother, Frederick Mac Gregor (Estelle).

Relatives and Friends may call from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the Lynnwood Reformed Church, 3714 Carmen Road, Schenectady, NY 12303. A celebration of life will follow immediately afterwards.
