Obituary of Mark Joseph Domick
ALBANY –
Mark Joseph Domick, age 72, peacefully passed away at his home in Albany, NY on December 5, 2024.
Mark grew up in Syracuse, NY and graduated from Bishop Ludden High School, where he excelled in academics and several sports - primarily Football. Mark graduated Magna Cum Laude from Dartmouth College and attended Syracuse University’s School of Management. After his graduation, Mark worked as the Lead Systems Programmer for Niagara Mohawk, SR Systems Engineer at EMC Corp. in Oregon and the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance where he was awarded the 2011 NYS Tax Excellence Award.
Mark’s true passion in life was experiencing the outdoors, spending much of his life skiing, mountain biking and kayaking across the world with family and friends (notably at Skaneateles Lake, the Adirondacks, in Belize, climbing Mt. St. Helen’s, kayaking the Hudson River and relaxing in Henderson Harbor). Mark also enjoyed socializing with his friends, especially at the Annual Savage Family Gatherings and at Juniors in Albany. Later in life, Mark spent many evenings and weekends cheering on his Great Nieces and Nephews in their various sports endeavors and fishing escapades. Simply put, Mark was the absolute best and will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mark is survived by his Brother, Edward “Skip” Domick, his sisters Pamela Domick and Penny Raynor, sister-in-law Cheryl Domick, Nieces Kim (Chris) Clark and Jill (Stephen) Etoll, Nephew Sean Domick, and seven Great Nieces and Nephews whom he adored - Hailie, Braiden and Rylan Clark, Grady and Keira Etoll and Isabella and Charlie Domick. Mark was predeceased by his parents, Susan and Edward Domick, as well as his brother, Charles Domick.
A private Celebration of Mark’s life will be held at a future date in the Central New York area.
In lieu of flowers, the Family kindly requests that donations be made in Mark’s memory to the Cape Coral Animal Shelter, as his sister Penny’s dogs, Maggie and Lola, held a special place in his heart.
