Obituary of William A. Gilboe

TROY –

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our brother, William A. Gilboe.  Billy was the youngest of the late Doris and Edward (Bud) Gilboe. Billy was born on September 20, 1955.

Billy was raised in Green Island.  He attended the former St. Joseph’s and Heatly schools. He graduated from Lansingburgh High School.

His smile was contagious.  He had a loving family and many friends.  Bill was a thrill seeker.  He rode motorcycles, dirt bikes, and fast cars.  He worked at several different businesses in the area.  We are grateful to those who gave Billy the chance to better himself.

His greatest joy came on May 8, 1992 when his daughter, Kerri, was born.  He was so proud of her.  Kerri continued to be in his life until her passing in July 2014.

Throughout his life, Bill experienced setbacks because of addiction to drugs and alcohol. He suffered from mental health conditions.  Through it all, he always came out on the bright side.

Billy is survived by his sister, Peggy (Tom) Maloney and his brother, Eddie (Kathy) Gilboe.  He had nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and numerous cousins.  Also, the family would like to acknowledge Genee (Joe) Borden, Kerri’s Mother.  She did her best to make sure that Billy had a wonderful life.

Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to: Simple Choices, Inc. 218 2nd Avenue, Troy, NY 12180.
