Obituary of Margaret M. Mayo

Margaret M. Mayo, 82, of Schoharie, passed away on April 23, 2015 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on May 9, 1932 in County Mayo, Ireland to Darby Mills and Bridget (Mullarky) Mills. Margaret was a proud wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a homemaker when her kids were young. She then went onto be a group home counselor at the Catholic Orphanage. She will be missed by us all. Survivors include her beloved children: Maureen Sniffen, of Middleburgh, NY, Carl James Mayo (Lori) of Amsterdam, NY, and Brian Mayo of Johnstown, NY, her cherished grandchildren: Richard & Melissa Sniffen, both of Middlenburgh, Christopher (Rebecca) Sniffen of Cobleskill, Matthew Sniffen of Rotterdam, Stephanie & Jennifer Sniffen, both of Ogdensburg, NY, Kristen Gonzalez of Amsterdam and Justin (Jennifer) Mayo of Clovis, NM. Margaret was blessed by her most dearest great grandchildren: Kyle, Rylan & Taylor Sniffen, Justin Crabill, Alannah, Alexandria and Jacob Sniffen, Joseph and Bryan Ayen, Isabella Gonzalez, Kyleigh and Ellie Mayo. Additional survivors include her two sisters: Kathleen Davitt of New Windsor, NY and Mary Carolan of York, England, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Margaret was predeceased by husband, Carl Mayo and two brothers, Anthony and Shamus Mills of Ireland and New York respectively. Interment will take place at the Assumption Cemetery in Peekskill, NY on Saturday June 6th, where prayers will be offered, and a graveside service will take place. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and a time will be announced.
