A Tribute to Suemama: A Lifetime of Love and Laughter
In every life, there are souls who leave an indelible mark, and Suemama was one of those rare treasures. She wasn’t just Bonnie and Sara’s mom; she was a beacon of warmth, love, and unfiltered joy for everyone lucky enough to know her. From the moment you walked through her door, she made you feel welcome—not just with her smile but with the way she lit up when she saw you, always ready with a hug that felt like home.
Suemama had the rare gift of presence, the kind of person you could talk to for hours without realizing how much time had passed. She listened with her whole heart and never hesitated to speak her truth. Those conversations, whether serious or full of laughter, were a testament to her authenticity. I remember the countless times we’d talk until she’d playfully kick me out, reminding me she had work to do. She didn’t mince words, but that was part of her charm—she was real, and she cared deeply.
Her love for her grandkids was boundless, always finding its way into her stories. She’d light up just mentioning their names, her voice full of pride and joy. Being a grandma brought her so much happiness, and she made sure everyone knew it. Suemama also knew how to have a good time. She loved to party, to laugh, to dance, and to celebrate life in all its messy, beautiful glory.
Regret is a heavy thing, and I wish I had visited her more when I had the chance. But the 30+ years of memories we shared are etched into my heart forever. I’ll always remember her hugs, her laughter, her honesty, and the way she made every room brighter just by being in it.
Suemama, you were a force of nature, a friend, a mother, a grandmother, and a light in so many lives. Thank you for the love, the memories, and for being unapologetically you. You will always be missed, but never forgotten.
