Obituary of Roberta A. Porter
SLINGERLANDS –
Roberta A. Porter, 65, of Slingerlands, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the Riverside Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing in Castleton.
The daughter of the late George and Rita Vollmer, Roberta was born on October 22, 1958 in Schenectady, New York and was raised in Scotia.
Roberta worked in hospitality as a Banquet Manager and Server, as well as raised three children during her lifetime.
Those closest to Roberta, warmly remember that she was a big fan of the Christmas Holiday season. She also enjoyed her television shows (especially Survivor, The Sopranos and Friends.) Roberta was an avid collector of glass animals and other keepsake items.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her three children: Erica Wilson, Christopher Isdell, and Heather Porter. She was the grandmother of three cherished grandchildren. Also surviving are her two loving cats, Jackie and Juliet.
In addition to her parents, Roberta was predeceased by her brothers David Vollmer and Timothy Vollmer.
Special thanks to all involved in Roberta’s care, especially her youngest child, Heather, who became her primary caregiver since December 2019.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
