Obituary of George Albert Parker
HOOSICK FALLS –
On September 23, 2024, George Albert Parker, of Hoosick Falls, NY was called home to Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior.
He was the beloved husband of Christine Sears (Parker), father of Fallon Parker and Nicole Parker, and step father of Courtney Marro (Sears).
George was born in Pittsfield, MA on February 14, 1955 to parents George Albert Parker, Sr. and Dorcas Gaylord. George spent many years working many jobs, including driving for County Rainbow Taxi in Pittsfield, MA, where he also met the absolute love of his life Christine.
He loved to fish, build and travel. One of his favorite places to go was Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. He also enjoyed watching sports, playing cribbage and card games with friends and family, and had a new found love for the game of corn hole. He was a man of many talents, and there was never a problem he couldn’t come up with a solution for.
George was one of a kind. The love he had to give to each person in his life was unmeasurable. He was talented in many ways, and he truly had a heart of gold. Something he often taught those he truly loved was; “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning to dance in the rain.”
In addition to his wife and children he is survived by his sister, Gladys Harvey (Parker). George had a very strong love and bond with his sister. Not a day went by without mention of her.
In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his first wife, Sharon (Nicole's mother), his best friend Roger Muller and his nephew Trevor Decker.
The Parker Family wishes to thank the following: Christopher Smith for standing by us when things got really tough. Russell & Jackson Bedard for always being there to lend a helping hand, The Community Hospice for all the care you gave George, and especially, Judy Peek who has provided unwavering support since day one.
From his daughter, Fallon:
“My dad was one like no other. The love he had for my mom and I cannot be put into words. My dad taught me many things in life, but perhaps the most important thing he’s ever taught me is to know my worth. I will forever miss him, but in my heart I know he’s always there. I know the last few years have been so very hard, but I’m forever grateful for the time we spent together and all he’s taught me. I love you dad, to the moon and back.”
