Obituary of Jacqueline Francis Heigel
ST. AUGUSTINE, FL –
Jacqueline Francis Heigel, St. Augustine, FL, formerly of Galway, NY passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, with the love of her husband and family surrounding her.
She was 43 years old.
Jackie was born January 20, 1981 to Theresa (Ashcraft) Heigel and the late Donald Heigel.
She is survived by her husband, Shane Van Buren; half-brothers, Michael Mahar. Jr., and Richard Mahar (Kim); sister-in-law, Shannon Chamberlan (Morris); mother-in-law, Debra Van Buren (Larry); aunts: Kimberly, Debra (Leif), Alana (Tom), and Diane (Kenny); uncle, Danny (Sheila); cousins: Brenna, Malaina, Morgan, Rebecca Nathan, Ryan, Sheldon, Ciera, and Kamryn; nephews: Darren, Michael, Kyle, Tristin, and Tyler; nieces: Hailey, Kellee, Emma, Isabella, Makala, and Mackenzie. Jackie was preceded in death by her father Donald and brother, Christopher Heigel.
Jackie graduated from Galway High School in 1999 and Schenectady Community College in 2008 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She was co-owner of Van Buren Ventures and Operations Manager of Invisible Fence.
Jackie had a passion for animals. She adopted and helped to place numerous cats and dogs into their forever loving homes. Her favorite things were the beach and sunshine, attending car shows, music concerts and festivals. She remained a fan of New Kids on the Block and loved rooting for the New England Patriots.
Jackie’s family sends prayers to fellow families battling addiction.
A private memorial gathering will be held in Jackie’s remembrance.
