Obituary of Arthur James Conde

SCOTIA –

Devoted husband and father, Arthur James Conde’s love of life didn’t come to an end with his death. Art passed away on July 1, 2024 at the age of 67 after a courageous medical battle, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Born to James and Carolyn Conde of West Glenville, NY, Art later met the love of his life, Donna, while working in his hometown of Scotia, NY. It was love at first sight, and together they proudly raised two incredible children Haley and Benjamin, who are the center of their life together.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Art. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially enjoying family cookouts and visits to the Catskill game farm. Art was an avid golfer, and even once sunk a hole in one, a feat of which he said, "was no big deal."

Art routinely spun to the Stewart's shop in Scotia for his morning coffee on his motorized wheelchair with their doodle dog Daisey on his lap, greeting everyone along the way with his ever-present smile. Art was known to everyone he met for his gentle, humble and kind nature.

Art is survived by his wife Donna, their children Haley and Benjamin, and their partners Chris Sweeney and Liam Sullivan respectively. Art was the eldest of four, having three sisters Anne Clapper (Bruce), Cathy Arnold (Rick), and Jeanne Conde (Ed), and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.

Relatives and Friends are invited to Arthur's Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 10 o'clock in the morning at the West Glenville First Reformed Church, located at: 2172 West Glenville Road, Amsterdam, NY 12010 (Glenville, NY).
