Obituary of John I. Rifenburgh
PITTSTOWN –
John I. Rifenburgh, 61, of the Town of Pittstown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2024 in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family.
The son of Helen (Eriksen) Rifenburgh and the late Harry Rifenburgh, John was born on January 30, 1963 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
He received his education from the Hoosic Valley School District. Mr. Rifenburgh was employed as a tractor-trailer truck driver for many years until retirement.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, playing card games, his Stewarts coffee, but most of all, spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 42 years, Patricia Rifenburgh, whom he married on April 17, 1982 in Tomhannock, NY. His three children and their spouses: Lynn (Aaron) Brammer, John (Jaclyn) Rifenburgh and Alisha (Steve) Hope. He was the proud grandfather of: Austin, Shania, Brandon, Hope, Kierra, Ian, Zoie, Riley, James and Jackson. He was the dear brother and brother-in-law of: Gordon (Patricia), Kim (Woody), Matt (Christine) and Stacie. John is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon in the Hoosic Valley Community Church, located at: 2024 State Highway 40, Schaghticoke, NY 12154.
