Obituary of Shirley V. Warren

Menands – Shirley “Shirl” Warren, 79, of Menands, died at home on November 29, 2014 after being diagnosed with Colon Cancer back in May. Shirley was born in New York City; the daughter of the late Alfred E. and Hattie (Barnes) Warren. At an early age Shirley’s parents moved to Cleveland, Ohio where she grew up. Shirl retired from the State Health Department after 35 years of service. Shirl is survived by three sisters: Bonita Sawyer and Margurita Bishop both of Cleveland, Ohio, Joan Wright of Michigan and a brother, Londell Warren also of Cleveland, Ohio. Jean Tann who was by Shirley’s side at the time of her passing, wishes to thank the Albany Community Hospice for their dedicated care and kindness. Jean was Shirley’s long time friend and roommate. Shirley did not wish to have a formal service or a viewing.
