Obituary of Helen Goetz Perfetti

NISKAYUNA –

Helen Goetz Perfetti, 99, of Niskayuna, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the Glendale Home after a brief illness.  

The daughter of the late William and Helen (Canfield) Goetz, Helen was born on November 26, 1924 in Troy, and moved to Schenectady at the age of two. Helen was a graduate of the former Mont Pleasant High School and Spencer’s Business College.  She was a member of various clubs and organizations and was also a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Schenectady.  Helen worked for Schenectady County for 28 years and attained the position as Commissioner of Jurors.  She was the first woman to hold the position.  

Helen was married to Frank Perfetti until his death in 2005.  She is survived by her daughter, Christina (Christopher) Dickens of Virginia, her son, Bryan Rufer (Karen) of Texas; granddaughters: Chelsea (Matt) Rummenie of Colorado, Bethany (Nick) Walton and Ainsley (Ben) Cockerille  of Virginia. Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her brother, William Goetz, her brothers-in-law: Louis Perfetti, Anthony Perfetti, Peter Perfetti, and sisters in laws; Nancy Perfetti, and Marie Perfetti wife of the late Peter Perfetti. She is survived by her sister in law, Genette Goetz wife of the late William Goetz, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is survived by four great grandchildren who she loved dearly; Tillie and Macon Cockerille and Landon and Abigail Walton.

Funeral Services will be held on June 3, 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved Frank.
