Jaquan Harris

Obituary of Jaquan Christopher Harris

AMSTERDAM –

Jaquan Christopher Harris was born to Andre Stanfield and Crystal Harris on February 23, 2000 in Cheverly, Maryland.

He passed away on January 9, 2024, at Albany Medical Center, after a courageous battle against a rare and deadly fungal pneumonia. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by loved ones who will never stop loving him.

His family relocated to the Gloversville-Amsterdam, New York area when he was a child. He and his siblings, Andre and Diamond, attended the Gloversville Public School System. He graduated from Gloversville High School in 2019. Jaquan took pride in being independent and learning how to do things on his own. He loved to travel and see unfamiliar places, which led him, with the help of his father, to pursue obtaining his CDL license so he could travel and get paid doing it. He enjoyed being with his best friends, Zendell, Isiah and Ethan and spending time with their families. Jaquan was witty and fun loving, but he could be blunt and a little stubborn sometimes. He would get mad at his mom and announce that he was going to live with his grandmother, Denise, but he always returned home the next day or so after he was over his upset.

Jaquan is survived by his mother, Crystal, his father, Andre; three sisters, Ion, Diamond and Montana and one brother, Andre. Also mourning his passing are his grandmothers; Denise Ameyaw, Elvira Joyner (Nana) and Maggie Holiday, his grandfathers; Morton Perry, Joseph Joyner, and Emmanuel Aidoo (Papa). His Aunts Chante and Alvenia and Uncle Anthony preceded him in death. His first cousins Lil Paul, Donnell, Zay, Jahmari and Kendo; Shakona, and a host of aunts, uncles, great-aunts and great-uncles, his great-great Aunt Muriel Ward-Harper, other cousins, family members and friends, will all miss him dearly.
