Obituary of Patricia E. Gardner

1952-2014 Feura Bush, N.Y. Patricia E. Gardner, 62, of Feura Bush, passed away after losing her battle with cancer on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Jeffrey R. Gardner. Patty was born in Pittsfield, MA on May 12, 1952, the daughter of the late Robert W. Jones and Eunice M. (Smith) Jones. She was also a daughter to her stepmother, Alice L. Cole Jones of West Lebanon, NY, who survives. Patricia was a graduate of Lebanon High School in New Lebanon, NY. She was employed from 1974-1977 by the State Department of Health, from 1977-1984 as a bookkeeper, from 1984-2002 as a homemaker and from 2003-2010 at Farm Family Casualty Insurance Company. When Patty retired she watched over some of her grandchildren. Patty was an active member of the Jerusalem Reformed Church, a member of the Helping Hands, and a Sunday school teacher for several years. She loved bingo, crafting, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, reading, sudoku, and spending time with family and friends especially at the beach. She will be truly missed. In addition to her husband Jeffrey, and her stepmother Alice, Patty is survived by her children; her stepson Gabriel N. (Nicole) Gardner of Castleton, and daughters, Sarah J. (James) Banahan of Selkirk, Jessica A. Munroe of Feura Bush, Amy M. Gardner of Watervliet, Kelly E. Gardner of Selkirk, Kimberly E. Gardner of Voorheesville and 12 grandchildren. Patty is survived by her siblings; Eunice M. (John) Young, Barbara A. Graham, Donna J. (Michael) Gillen, Karen E. (Thomas) Coleman, and Herbert F. (Darlene) Jones. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Besides her parents, Patty was predeceased by her brother Robert W. Jones Jr. A period of visitation will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014 from 10AM to 11AM at the Jerusalem Reformed Church, 1433 Indian Fields Rd., Feura Bush, NY. Following the visitation, a memorial service will commence at 11AM with Rev. Perry Jones officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall adjoining the church. Interment will occur at a later date.
