Obituary of Deborah A. Sickles
TROY –
Deborah Sickles “Debbie”, 70, a loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend to nature passed away at Samaritan Hospital on September 20, 2023, after an intense and short battle with cancer. Born on April 13,1953 in Albany, NY. She was the daughter of Nicola and Lillian First.
Debbie is survived by her husband James, they just celebrated their 50-year wedding anniversary on June 9, 2023. She is also survived by her son, James and his wife, Lisa; siblings Mary (Nunzio) Cangemi of Altamont, NY and Mark (Phyllis) First of Ballston Spa, NY. Debbie was predeceased by her parents and her sister-in-law, Margaret Sickles.
Debbie was a graduate of Cardinal McCloskey High School in Albany, NY.
She worked for St. Peter’s Health Partners until her retirement.
Debbie loved her family deeply and believed in being there for them in all the easy and hard times. She would give herself and all her ability and worldly goods to be there, caring for them and enjoying time with each other.

Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
