Obituary of Walter G. Marriner

COHOES –

 

Walter G. Marriner, 66, of Cohoes, formerly of Troy, entered into rest on July 10, 2023, in the comfort of his own home surrounded by the love of his family.

 

The son of the late Richard C. Marriner Sr. and Blanche T. (Mousseau) Marriner, Walter, or “Butch” as he was known by family and friends, was born on March 29, 1957, in Troy. Butch was raised in Troy and was a graduate of Troy High School. He lived in Cohoes as an adult up until the time of his death. Mr. Marriner was employed for 27 years by the Northeast Association of the Blind.

 

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nancy A. (Serson) Marriner, whom he married on June 18, 1988, in Troy, NY at the First United Presbyterian Church. Survivors also include one son: Son Carl (Timmy) Falsen (Sherrell), two daughters: Stephanie Marriner (Caleb) of Watervliet and Tiffany Marriner, of Schenectady, five grandchildren: Nora and Atlas Crouch, Antwon and Cayden Falson and Jalissa, and his siblings: Richard C. Marriner Jr. (Mary) of Brunswick, David J. Marriner (Mariellen) of Virginia Beach, VA, Lynda Marriner-Clikman (Kevin) of Spartansburg, SC. In addition to his parents, Walter was predeceased by his sisters: Margaret A. Fiato and Frances E. Marriner.

 

Walter (Butch) will be greatly missed by family and friends.

 

In accordance with Walter’s wishes, there will be No Calling Hours or Funeral Services. Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
