Obituary of Cleo N. Junco

GUILDERLAND – Cleo N. Junco, 73, of Guilderland, formerly of Frewsburg, NY, entered into rest on May 18, 2023, at The Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. The daughter of the late W. Clifford Nobbs and Carol (Cedarquist) Nobbs, Cleo was born on June 23, 1949, in Jamestown, NY. She was raised in Frewsburg, NY and was the Valedictorian of her graduating class in 1967. Cleo continued her education at the University of Albany where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education, German, and mathematics. Cleo resided in Guilderland in the home she built with her late husband Anthony Junco. She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield and also owned and operated Center Square Wine and Spirits with her husband, before turning it over to her son Evan. A dedicated mom, she ensured her boys were actively involved in many activities, sports, and clubs. Cleo will be fondly remembered for her love of traveling the world, spending time with her family, gardening and maintaining her beautifully landscaped property, and rooting for her favorite football team the Buffalo Bills. “Go Bills!” Survivors include her longtime partner, David Normandin, her children: son Bradley Junco (Rebecca), son Evan Junco (Meredyth) and stepdaughter Pamela Brunette. Her Grandchildren: Lillie Junco, Owen Junco, Annabella Brunette and Grandpups: Maverick and Luxe "Fluffy" Junco. Cleo is also survived by her sister, Constance Kenna and many cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Cleo was predeceased by her husband Anthony Junco, her sisters: Cecile Derby and Camille Atkins, her brother-in-law Roger Kenna Sr. and nephew Roger Kenna Jr. The Family wishes to express their gratitude to: Diana Scott from Home Instead, the doctors and nurses at Albany Medical Center and The Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital for their care and compassion.
