Obituary of Renee Apryl Pier

TROY – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Renee Apryl Pier-Valenti, who passed away on March 9, 2023, at the age of 56 surrounded by her loving family. Renee was born on March 17th, St. Patrick's Day of 1966 in Massachusetts and raised in Beaufort, SC, before moving to Troy, NY, where she lived for the rest of her adult life. Renee was a kind-hearted and caring person who devoted her life to taking care of others. She was predeceased by her loving parents Margaret "Peggy" and Joseph H. Pier Jr and her beloved brother, Daniel W Pier. Renee is survived by her brothers, Joseph "Buddy" (Nicole) Pier III, Eric (Katrina) Gapp, and Michael Bingham “Pier”. Renee is also survived by her ex-husband and lifelong best friend, James Valenti, Sr., and together they had two beautiful children: "Sir" James (Carla) Valenti, Jr. and ChrisDe “Gert Trude” (Jonathan) Perez and her stepson Ryan Valenti. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren: Jada Bean Valenti, Matthew Daniel Lamere, Jaiana "Kadi" Llanos, James Valenti III, Alani Valenti, Valenica Perez, and Jonathan Perez, Jr. She loved spending time with them, and they will miss her dearly. She also leaves behind her beloved canine Chica, and “partner in crime” Jeff Outhout. Renee was a simple woman who enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved drinking tea while watching her stories and spending time with her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her kind heart, amazing sense of humor, and loving nature. In accordance with Renee’s wishes, cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. A celebration of her life will be held on what would have been her 57th birthday, March 17th, in the Chapel of Simple Choices, Inc., 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Troy, NY 12180. All are welcome to attend and are encouraged to wear green in honor of Renee's Irish heritage. Calling Hours will be from 4-6PM followed by a memorial service at 6PM in the funeral home. Renee's passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on forever. Rest in peace, Renee Apryl Pier-Valenti.
