Obituary of Penny A. Ryan

SPEIGLETOWN - Penny A. Ryan, 64, of Speigletown, formerly of Lansingburgh, entered into rest on February 23, 2023, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. The daughter of the late Marvin and Antoinette (Frederico) Iler, Penny was born on January 29, 1959, in Troy, NY. Penny was raised in Lansingburgh and graduated from Lansingburgh High School. She was employed for over 40 years as a Clerk with the State of New York in the Department of Taxation and Finance. Penny loved to watch soap opera series, game shows and reading Danielle Steel books! She enjoyed listening to oldies music, watching her grandchildren swimming in the pool (she loved her grandchildren so much!) She also enjoyed taking long drives with her husband to the ocean (or just for the day), as well as talking on the phone and catching up with family and friends and laughter. Survivors include her husband, Bradley Ryan, whom she married on December 24, 1996, in Troy, NY. She is also survived by one daughter, Jaclyn (Thomas) Batcher, and four grandchildren: Ashlyn, Lisa, Colton, and Bradley. Penny is also survived by siblings: Ralph (Beverly) Iler, Lori (Robert) Borden, Don (De) Behn, as well as many nieces and nephews, whom she adored, and great nieces and nephews also survive. Penny was blessed by a host of close friends whom she also considered to be her family. In addition to her parents, Penny was predeceased by one sister, Donna Iler, who passed away on August 31, 2021.
