Obituary of Ronald William Holman

TROY, NY

Ronald William Holman, 74, passed away on March 22, 2018 under the loving care of his daughter Heidi Lee Holman surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Troy, NY he was the son of the late Paul E. Holman and Lillian Oliver (King). He was a US Navy Veteran serving from 1961 to 1963. He retired from CDTA in 2009.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers James Holman and Mark Holman, sister Anne LaMonte and grandson Nicholas G. Holman whom he so dearly loved and grieved deeply for.

He is survived by his daughter, Heidi L. Holman (Robert Lopez), his grandchildren Lee Seney and Gabby Lopez, brothers Paul Holman, Charles Holman (Carrie), sisters Chris Holman, Cathy Richichi (Nick), Carolyn Gifford (Dave), Nadine Oliver and the many other nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.

"There’s only one Ron” is the way many would describe this generous, loud but wonderfully kind man. His delicious cakes and extra-large portions will be remembered by all who were guests in his home. Family and friends knew well how much Ron cared for them and if they forgot...he would remind them. Most important to Ron was the need to strengthen his relationship with his God and to draw closer to Him, for he knew that would make him the better man.

Ron loved black and white movies, The Bee Gees and songs by Jacques Brel. Though we are all saddened by the loss of this father, brother, grandpa and friend, we wish we could say just one more time the line from the Jacques Brel song, “Ne Me Quitte Pas” which translates “Do Not Leave Me”.

Heidi would like to  thank all who visited her father while hospitalized at Samaritan Hospital as well as the Hospice Staff.
