SHEEHAN, DAVID – ROTTERDAM, NY – David Sheehan, 61 entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Ellis Hospital surround by his loving family.
David was born in Albany, NY and was a graduate of Guilderland High School. He went on to obtain a degree in Business Management. David retired from a career spanning over 30 years working as a supervisor for the New York State Department of Transportation. Well respected in his time there, he was considered a hard working and consummate professional by all those who encountered him. He remained active after retirement by pursuing and obtaining his real estate license, and making the most of his free time. An avid sportsman, he was passionate about the outdoors and fishing, and could often be found at his camp on Lake Champlain. Dave was a member of the Guilderland Center Fire Department, having served as an Officer, and played on the Firemen’s softball team. He always enjoyed going out to dinner with the “old guys” of the firehouse and reminiscing about the great times they shared. He traveled throughout New York State spending time enjoying fishing and camping. He was a self-less giver, extending generosities to friends, family and strangers alike.
He is predeceased by his parents Francis and Victoria Sheehan, his brothers Patrick and Frank Sheehan. He is survived by his children Stephen and Chris also survived by his siblings, Cynthia, Christopher (wife Donna), Stephen (wife Kelly), Michael; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
