Obituary of Joseph W. Prager, Jr.

Joseph W. Prager, Jr., 60, of Latham, died on September 30, 2016 at Albany Medical Center, following an 8-month battle with Leukemia. Son of the late Joseph W. Prager, Sr. and Eleanor (Butkus) Prager, Joseph was born in Waterbury, CT and moved to the Capital District in 1994. He was a graduate of R.P.I., class of 1997. He worked as a civil engineer up to the time of his illness. Mr. Prager was a former member of the local Rotary International. He will fondly be remembered for the love he had for his dog, Paco, NASCAR and hiking. Joseph was a service-orientated person touching many lives along his journey. Whenever there was a need, he was always willing to help even when it meant putting aside his own needs. Survivors include his two sisters and their spouses, Vicki J. (Dennis) Mullaney of Northville and Plattsburg, and Susan (Walter) Duby of Ormond Beach, FL. He was uncle to John and Jeremy, Michael, Justyne and Daniel and step-uncle to Megan, Morgan, Ryan, Erin and Meredith. Visitation with a memorial service will be held between the hours of 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, at RIVERVIEW FUNERAL HOME, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street), Troy.
