Obituary of Lance A. Choppy

Troy, NY Lance Anthony Choppy, 63, fell into an eternal slumber surrounded by love on September 16, 2016 at Samaritan hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born August 12, 1953 to devoted parents Angelo and Eleanor (Coons) Choppy in Troy, NY. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, and went on to become a skilled machinist. After he spent many years employed at his family’s business, Green Island Lanes, he moved on to working at local manufacturing facilities having recently retired from V.M. Choppy & Sons also in Troy, where he was a valued, and loyal employee. With the exception of a few years when his family lived in Hacienda Heights, CA and Douglas, AZ, Lance was proud to call the Troy area his home. A true lover of sports, Lance spent some time in his early adulthood playing for the Cohoes Softball League, as a catcher, and outfielder, and he also was a member of the Troy Bowling Association, where he achieved a 300 game. Lance is predeceased by parents Angelo Choppy, and Eleanor (Coons) Choppy. Survived by his loving children Eric Choppy, and Amber Dart (George), grandchildren Ryleigh Mele, Nyssa Dart, Gabrielle Choppy, and Kayla Choppy, sisters Marie Beals (Tom), Gloria Grattan, Tammy Choppy, and brother Rod Choppy (Linda) along with many nieces, nephews, and his beloved pet cats Bud, and Nonie.
