Obituary of Sandra Rosenstein Effron

Slingerlands, NY - Sandi Effron died peacefully at her Beverwyck cottage, with her loving family by her side, on Monday, April 4, 2016 following a long illness. She was 81 years old. Sandi was born in Port Jervis, NY on August 15, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Sam and Nettie (Whitman) Rosenstein. Sandi owned her own women's clothing store in Port Jervis and worked in retail on and off for many years. She made Albany her home in the 1960s and was a member of Temple Beth Emeth. In later years she enjoyed winters at her home in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Sandi was a very creative person with a great love of the arts and travel. She was a beautiful woman with tremendous personal style and flair. Besides her parents, Sandi was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Joshua J. Effron, Esq., her son Jeffrey David Kurman and her sister and brother-in-law Mady and Sol Ganz. She is survived by her granddaughter Ainsley Samantha Kurman, her daughter-in-law Peggy Zitko Kurman and her dear friends. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the care given to Sandi during her illness and final weeks. Special thanks to: The Community Hospice of Albany County, her dedicated private nursing staff, as well as her devoted friend Sue Cuff, who was always by her side. Arrangements are private.
