Obituary of Daniel M. Dingley

DANIEL M. DINGLEY GREEN ISLAND, NY- Daniel M. Dingley, 66, of Green Island, died on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Samaritan Hospital Hospice Unit. Born in Troy, NY, Daniel was the son of the late Claude and Lillian Dingley. He was a graduate of Healty High School, and retired from NYS Tax & Finance. Daniel grew up and enjoyed spending his summers with his family at their camp, boating, fishing and midnight campfires at the Great Sacandaga. For the last 20+ years, he was living on his boat, taking in all the beautiful sunsets and moon light evenings. You would catch him sitting on the back of his boat with the fishing pole in the water, waiting for the “Big Boy” to bite at the North Hampton Marina anytime from the month of May through October. He would shoot darts from the month of September through April with his buddies at the Watervliet Elks. Daniel is survived by his beloved wife Jody, his son, Daniel M Dingley, Jr., his daughters: Colleen Dingley and Jennifer Jordan, his brothers: Claude (Thomas) Jr. and his wife Karen, of Brunswick, NY, Timothy and his wife Sue Dingley, of Glens Falls, NY, 8 grandchildren: Jordan, Connor, Kaci, Felisha, Danny Boy, Colin, Natalie and Liam and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Daniel was predeceased by his sister Colleen, who he never knew because she died shortly after birth. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. If you wish to remember Daniel in a special way the family has requested donations in his memory to either the American Lung Association or the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County.
