Obituary of Kenneth L. Metchick

Kenneth L. Metchick Albany- After a long illness, Mr. Kenneth L. Metchick, 59, of Albany died unexpectedly at his home on Friday morning August 8th, 2014. His loving family was by his side. Born in Albany on February 26, 1955 to the late Isadore and Edith (Kletzky) Metchick, Kenneth was raised in Albany and educated in area schools and a few colleges. Kenneth went on to join the armed forces, proudly serving his country in the United States Army from 1973-1982. Kenneth was honorably discharged and returned to Albany where he resided in the “Second Avenue area” for 32 years. Kenneth loved life and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golfing. He was also an electrician and enjoyed repairing computers. Kenneth was awarded many certificates for and received recognition for his outstanding service in many departments from not only his duration in the Army, but also while employed with the VA Hospital. Survivors include his wife Ok Cha, his children Edith, Isadore and Sarah. Kenneth will be missed by his four grandchildren (another grandchild is on the way). Kenneth’s brother Joseph Metchick, also survives. A memorial service will commence at 4PM Saturday, August 16th, in the Chapel of the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th St.) in Troy. A period of visitation will begin at 2PM in the afternoon until the time of the service.
