Obituary of Crosby E. Steel, Jr.

Crosby E. Steel Jr., beloved husband of Ruth M. Steel passed away March 13th at his home in Cohoes. Crosby was born on January 23, 1951 in Lockport, New York to the late Crosby and Betty W. Steel. Crosby is survived by his wife, Ruth, his brother Randy (Karen) Steel, Robert (Karen)Bates Jr., and sisters Susan Nelson, Debralyn (Thomas) Muscato, Donna Keyser-Medlin, and Judy (Barney) Raysor; many nieces and nephews and loving friends. Crosby lived for many years in Lockport, where he worked as Customer Relations Manager for US Gypsum. In 1999, Crosby moved to North Carolina where he was employed by Owens-Corning. Then he moved to Guilderland where he worked for CEVA Logistics in Waterford. It was while living in Guilderland that Crosby met the love of his life, Ruth. He also worked as a bus-driver for Shenendehowa Schools. Crosby was an avid golfer, and bowler. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. He served on the Board of directors of The Cotillion. He and Ruth were supporters of the Joseph E. Zaloga VFW Post #1520. Crosby will be remembered for his kindness and sense of humor. Crosby’s family would like to thank Community Hospice for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, 12205; would be appreciated, A memorial service in Crosby’s honor will be held on Saturday, March 29th at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church, 15 Ridge Place, Latham, NY 12110.
