Biography



Phyllis DeWitt Moore, 87 of Troy, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2011.  Born in Albany, NY on May 19, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Harold K. and Gertrude Webster Comstock.  She was the devoted wife of the late Donald F. Moore.

She is survived by a son: Robert D. (Peg) Choppy of West Sand Lake;  grandmother of Robert (Christine) Choppy of North Greenbush and Scott (Rita) Choppy of Tom Ball, TX;  great grandmother of Bobby, Nick and Tanner Choppy.

Phyllis lived in Rexford on the Mohawk River and later in Clifton Park before moving to Diamond Ridge in Troy.  She was a local artist and enjoyed painting at every opportunity.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.  Those who wish may make a memorial contribution in her name to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer, 295Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.

Phyllis was my Mother In Law for 47years,to the day,sadly she passed on our anniversary, we were friends throughout,never having harsh words between us,she was a wonderful Mother In Law,Mother and Grandmother to our Son's.I will miss you mom as I never called you Phyllis. Love your daughter Peg..the name you gave me...

I (Zoe) had a unique and special relationship with "Mom" and I will cherish those memories until I see her again. She was a very special person in my life. We will miss her dearly.
